About
Rebecca Kowalski is a garden and floral designer rooted in the landscapes of Litchfield County. With over a decade of experience in garden care, design, and specialty cut flowers, her work is guided by seasonality, observation, and a deep respect for how landscapes grow and evolve. From tending established gardens to creating natural floral designs, she brings a thoughtful, grounded approach to every space she works in.
Our Process
-
Inquiry & Alignment
Every project begins with conversation. We discuss vision, site, season, and intention — whether for an intimate gathering, a private garden, or a large-scale installation. This stage establishes aesthetic direction, scope, and energetic alignment.
You share inspiration, constraints, and desires. I listen closely for nuance — how you want the space to feel, not just how it should look.
-
Observation & Concept Development
I study the environment — light, architecture, landscape context, movement, and seasonality. From there, I develop a cohesive design concept rooted in atmosphere and botanical integrity.
You receive a refined creative direction outlining palette, plant material, structure, and overall mood. Every decision is intentional and edited.
-
Design & Stewardship
Sourcing begins. Plant material is selected for character, health, and harmony. Gardens are shaped. Floral compositions are constructed. Installations are built with care and restraint.
This stage is both technical and intuitive — balancing horticultural knowledge with artistic composition.
-
Installation & Evolution
The work is placed with precision and sensitivity to space. Final adjustments are made in real time, responding to light, scale, and flow.
For gardens, this includes guidance on ongoing care and seasonal evolution.
